Every once in a while, I run into a client that I have such similar taste to, it kind of feels like I’m planning my own dream wedding. Laurel + Danny certainly fall into this category. Their vibe? A boho vintage rooftop disco party. Alright, alright, alright, I can absolutely get on board with that. Let me set the scene for you: the rooftop of Welltown Brewing with the downtown Tulsa skyline in the background. Disco balls hung throughout the space. Colorful lounges for guests to chat over a beer. A band that really delivers a party. Sounds like a dream? It was.
I can’t think of a better way to set the tone for your wedding than walking in and seeing this for the ceremony. Laurel + Danny took full advantage of their wedding rentals and had us incorporate all of their lounge pieces into the rows of seating for the ceremony. We then came back during cocktail hour and moved everything into place for the reception and lots of dancing!
Vintage elements were incorporated throughout the wedding, like brass candlesticks on the tables and a vintage dining table for the guest book.
To modernize the design, bright colors were also incorporated throughout, and personally, this is one of my favorite ways to mix styles like vintage and modern that feels really intentional. In fact, no detail was spared even down to Laurel’s shoes (possibly my favorite wedding shoes of all time)! Your guests may not notice every little detail but what they will notice is a well thought out and cohesive design.
I’ll close by saying that clients who have a strong vision for their wedding, communicate that vision with their vendors, and then place trust in them, end up with the most amazing results.
